Research and Experience
Tonya Meyrick is a Senior Lecturer in Screen and Design and Course Director of the Bachelor Design – Communication Design, 3D Animation and Digital Technologies in the School of Communication and Creative Arts at Deakin University. She addresses problems surrounding the intersection and boundaries of typography, the image, technology and design that culminate in artefacts used globally every day. Within this frame Tonya explores how digital technologies provide social and cultural properties opportunities to cultivate cross platform brand strategies that reach audiences in new ways and build on established traditions. Current projects explore how typography can build on notions of place and identity www.incaseoftype.org. This has resulted in Tonya being awarded the 2019 Australian Bright Lights Project commission.
